Do as much as you can.

The hardest part is starting. Sometimes, you might feel stuck. So you have to break from that “silos” or monotony and energise yourself. Motivate yourself to be as productive as you can. Not just efficient but also effective. Since you are doing everything it doesn’t make sense to work 90 hours a week if 50% of the tasks will have to be re-done. Rather focus on quality work that is effective in the long run and can give you measurable and actionable results. So, remember to go out there and do as much as you can get done.

Bill more hours.

As a sole trader, more billable hours is the key. That’s the only way money is going to come into your business. To bill more hours, you will either need repeat customers or big projects. You can attract these two types of projects via regular marketing and excellent customer service.

Work-life balance.

All said and done, the family is the most important thing in life. Studies have shown that on their deathbeds, people don’t ever say, “I wish I had spent more time at the office.” But people say, “I wish I had spent more time with my family and friends.” Since life is unpredictable, you have to allocate some time to your family, too. Create memories, relax, and have fun. Then you can go back to work for as long as you need.

Start afresh every day.

You have to catch up with the maintenance. The software, the stock, the invoicing, the billing, and other sundry tasks -- you need to take care of everything smoothly. You should also focus on what needs to be done. And then just do it. Don’t put it off or think too much about it. Once you start taking action, everything else will fall into place. At the end of the day, week, month, quarter, and year -- you have got to be on top of everything. You need to know how things are functioning. Whether they are good or bad, stay motivated and start afresh every day with the same level of enthusiasm.
