Why Electricians Need To Develop A Growth Mindset

There are two types of mindsets -- one which accepts challenges as opportunities for growth and the second one considers challenges as obstacles and gives up. Take a moment, and be honest with yourself -- which mindset do you have? Learn more about how the correct mindset can help electricians, electrical contractors, and electrical business owners to hack growth and success in the electrical industry.

You can be honest with yourself by answering these questions:

  • Are you honest when assessing your performance and knowledge?

  • Do you learn from others?

  • Are you open to criticism and consider it as a learning opportunity?

If you answered “yes” to the above three questions, congratulations! You have got a growth mindset. It is a terrific asset to have because it is something no one can take away from you and the employers are always on the lookout for it.

It is because, well, the thing is people who think they are too good tend to think that it is always someone else's false when things go wrong. This "Not my fault" mentality is a trap. It holds them down and doesn’t allow them to learn and become better. When people lack confidence, they don't let anyone else teach them, which, in turn, stops them from gaining the required skills to become confident.

The last thing I would like to share is, do not say "I know" when someone is sharing something. Listen to them, understand their insights. You will learn something that you didn’t know of. So keep listening, keep learning, and keep growing.
